Goodbye soaps and cleansers and hello …OIL?

oilcleansingimageWho would have thought that using OIL, of all things, would be an ideal way to cleanse one’s face? Now, I know this isn’t
hair-related, but I feel it’s appropriate because most people interested in natural ‘hair’ are also interested in skin care,
and natural skin care at that! So, here is a nice way to take care of your face in a very natural way…one person I know even said she ditched all of her Neutrogena products when she saw how this method deep-cleansed her skin so effectively and left it silky-smooth and glowing!

Most people think that that would cause residue, that anyone with already oily or acne-prone skin would only worsen the condition.

But it seems to not be the case…at least not according to an article I read recently.

I tried this oil-cleansing method myself and I must say, I have definitely noticed a difference in my own skin. It’s softer and I noticed a sign of definite detoxification of my skin. “Detoxification?”, you might be asking.

Yes, and the reason this is possible is because of the TYPE of oil used. The one that is really doing all the “dirty work” is castor oil! Castor oil is very detoxifying to the body which is why it is used in what are known as ‘castor oil packs’ that are placed on the abdomen area to aid in detoxing the body.

But castor oil isn’t the only oil used. The article says to use sunflower seed oil…someone I know uses straight coconut oil (which is also very cleansing, antibacterial and antifungal), I personally used a combination of castor, olive and coconut oils. They even give a ratio of how much oil to use for the 3 main skin types!

You can read more about it here: The Oil Cleansing Method

But back to the effects I’ve seen…I also noticed that where I would get these really tiny, hard white bumps around the jawbone area that were SUPER hard to get rid of are now clearing out and clearing up!

So, I’m not saying that this is the answer for everyone…but it’s definitely worth looking into and trying out!
